National museums, Yongridan-gil, Itaewon, Hannam-dong and Haebangchon
Yongsan splits into distinct clusters: the big museums around Ichon and Samgakji, with Yongridan-gil (also spelled Yongnidan-gil) near Sinyongsan; the restaurants and bars of Itaewon and Hannam-dong; and the hillside cafes of Haebangchon near Noksapyeong. Plan by cluster rather than trying to walk between all of them.
The National Museum of Korea and the War Memorial of Korea both have free permanent exhibitions. Yongsan Station (Line 1, KTX) and Sinyongsan Station (Line 4) are separate stations that are easy to confuse. Itaewon’s main street looks quiet in daylight and gets busier after sunset, especially on weekends.
Looking for Seongsu-dong? It has its own section on the Seoul by Area page.
Below, the guides are grouped by neighborhood, followed by one-day routes, hotels in the area and the stations you will actually use.

| How long | About 8–9 hours for the museum, Haebangchon and Namsan |
